DisneyToon Studios

by: Dave Flynn

With a break in the weather ( clouds) we were able to have our second Star Party at DisneyToon Studios.

Even before night fall employees were gathering around the telescopes wanting to know what we were looking at. The Moon was up pretty high and a few were able to look at the Moon before the night program began.

With night fall upon us, a crowd of about forty took turns looking through the different telescopes. Many of them stay and talked with the astronomers about what they were seeing and the different types of telescopes that were being used.

Jupiter and its four Moons, along with Orion Nebula was a crowd pleaser and of course, our own Moon was pretty impressive too. It was crescent shape with great details of the lunar surface being visible.

Some of the employees rushed home to bring back their kids so they could look through the telescopes. One small girl even brought her doll along with her. Not wanting the doll to miss out on anything, she held the doll up to the eye piece  so the doll could have a look too!

By 8:00 pm those clouds began to make their presence known again and it wasn't  too much longer that we called it a night.
