Valencia Library

▪ Telescope building - Kids get to make their very own telescope to keep.
(while supplies last.)
▪ Kitchen Comets - Learn about comets and help make one.
▪ Solar Observing - Observe the Sun safely through our special telescopes.
▪ Craft Projects - Make a working sundial, planisphere, or the littlest ones can just have fun coloring in their favorite space picture.

Richard Wade will be giving his "How Big is Big, How Far is Far" presentation for kids of all ages in the meeting room beginning at 1:30pm. Learn about how big stars are, how far it is to the moon, why we have seasons, how eclipses work and more...

***** Telescope Workshop *****
Do you have that old telescope sitting in your closet? Perhaps you received one for Christmas years ago but don't know how to set it up, can't find anything, or aren't even sure you've got all the parts?
Well, bring it out to Astronomy Day and we'll have astronomers there to help you get it working. Then, bring it back again for stargazing in the parking lot.* Assuming it is functional, we guarantee you will be looking at something that evening!
