We will be holding the event at the Valencia branch of the Santa Clarita Public Library beginning at noon. Please plan to join us for lots of fun activities!

12:00 – 5:00 Solar Observing* - Observe the Sun safely through special “solar” telescopes.

12:00 Cassini Saturn Mission: “Ring World” – DVD presentation

12:30 Kitchen Comets

Did you miss the recent comet? No worries, we’ll make our own!

1:30 Build Your Own Telescope

Kids will assemble their own simple telescope and learn how a refractor telescope works.

3:00 The Thirty-Meter Telescope

Meet some of the folks who are building the next generation of world-class observatories.

4:00 An Explorer’s Guide to the Solar System

Learn about how we explore our solar system from Earth-based observatories to robotic spacecraft.

7:00-10:00 Telescope Viewing*

Night observation featuring the Moon, Jupiter, Orion and much more. Telescopes will be set up for the evening in the library parking lot.
