Hey, it's time for another of our fantastic star parties out at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area. Sunset is slated for around 6:25 that evening so we should have a good long observing session. Remember, we need to be packed up and out of there by 11pm.

Targets that evening include Saturn (very low in the West) and all the usual Fall objects like the Andromeda Galaxy, Albireo, Ring Nebula, the Blue Snowball Nebula and for those with larger scopes you might be able to find the planet Uranus.

As always, the public is encouraged to attend.

Enter the park via the main gate, turn left at the ranger station and continue to the end of the road past the large rocks.

Notes:

This is a County Park so please be mindful of the rules. aka, no alcohol. No smoking of any kind except in your vehicle. The park normally closes at sundown but during our Star Parties, we make special arrangements to have the gates open until the event concludes. Also, please stay at the event after dark. The rest of the park is not open to the public after dark and you will be asked to leave if you stray from the event area.
