Our regularly scheduled club meeting.

This month we will be holding elections for the club Board of Directors. Please come to the meeting and cast your ballot!

We will have our regular Constellation of the Month lecture and we have a special guest appearance from Luisa Rebull, one of the research astronomers at the Infrared Processing and Analysis Center (IPAC) at Caltech.

Luisa will be talking about "Citizen Science":
Did you have a cloudy night but still want to do some astronomy? Do you really
want to see the sky tonight but you also like running water and A/C? There is a
ton of research-quality astronomy data available to you *right now*. You just
need to know how to get access to it! I’ll cover a few of the many ways that you
can get access to real data, from citizen science web-based projects to FITS
files. I’ll also cover a few basics of how to interpret astronomy images, which
may inform your own telescope imaging projects.

We will also be showing off some slides from our recent White Mountains camping trip. It was fantastic.

The public is encouraged to attend!

The Barnes & Noble bookstore located on the East side of Valencia Blvd, between Magic Mountain Pkwy and Creekside Rd.

The club holds it's monthly meetings here. As you enter, the meeting room is to the left.

This Barnes & Noble bookstore also has a Starbucks so feel free to pick up a latte before the meeting.
