It looks like Mother Nature has other plans for us this weekend. We can sure use the rain though. Our next Vasquez event is on July 2nd.

Another one of our fantastic FREE quarterly star parties out at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area in Agua Dulce. Sundown is at 7:20pm. We may have a couple solar telescopes out so get here early.

Targets that evening will be Jupiter of course, and a thin crescent moon until around 10pm. We will also have all the usual Spring deep sky nebulae, galaxies and star clusters.

There are always a lot of telescopes here and a few of us will be doing some astrophotography demonstrations as well.

Enter the park via the main gate, turn left at the ranger station and continue to the end of the road past the large rocks.

Notes:

This is a County Park so please be mindful of the rules. aka, no alcohol. No smoking of any kind except in your vehicle. The park normally closes at sundown but during our Star Parties, we make special arrangements to have the gates open until the event concludes. Also, please stay at the event after dark. The rest of the park is not open to the public after dark and you will be asked to leave if you stray from the event area.
