Well folks, it looks like Mother Nature would rather we do something else this evening. The clouds and possible rain is cause for cancelling tonight's event at the mall.

Another exciting and fun public outreach event. Sometimes we feel that The Local Group is one of Santa Clarita's best kept secrets. This event attempts to remedy that by exposing a very large number of local residents to what we do and the wonders of the stars. Yes, you can only see a few stars due to the incredibly bright lights but we always choose nights with a quarter moon and some planets to look at. This time we will have a first quarter moon, Jupiter and maybe Mars and Saturn if they clear the buildings.

Since it gets dark so late, we will likely have some solar scopes set up before sundown just for fun.

One of our Sidewalk Astronomy locations. Located in the plaza right outside Sisley restaurant and the food court.

Notes:

This is a very bright location. The mall will not turn down some of the lights for us. Expect mostly planetary and lunar viewing. High traffic area.
