One of our great public Star Parties. Sunset is around 7:10 so members should plan accordingly. We have the park until 11:30 as usual.

The general public is encouraged to attend! We will likely have solar telescopes set up beforehand to catch a glimpse of our nearest star. Once it starts to get dark we should still be able to see Saturn and Venus above the sunset just above the thin crescent moon.

As it gets darker we will be able to start seeing our closest neighbor galaxy the Andromeda Galaxy as well as other more distant galaxies and nebulae.

We will have several other clubs in attendance as well so it should be a good time for all!

Enter the park via the main gate, turn left at the ranger station and continue to the end of the road past the large rocks.

Notes:

This is a County Park so please be mindful of the rules. aka, no alcohol. No smoking of any kind except in your vehicle. The park normally closes at sundown but during our Star Parties, we make special arrangements to have the gates open until the event concludes. Also, please stay at the event after dark. The rest of the park is not open to the public after dark and you will be asked to leave if you stray from the event area.
