Update: We are GO for tonight. While we have some cloudiness during the day today, it's supposed to clear up by this evening. See you all there!

A reprise of our January star party that was cancelled due to road damage. Looking good. The road has been fixed and the weather looks positive. Always check back on the day of the event for last minute announcements.

Join us for an exciting night under the stars. Sundown is around 5:30 with Nautical Twilight (when the stars come out) around 6:30. The stars of the show will be Jupiter, Mars and Venus. Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) will still be visible almost straight up. this time of year we also have a bunch of amazing nebulae and galaxies to see as well.

This event is free and open to the public. You do not need a telescope to attend.

We will be hosting a telescope workshop beginning around 4pm. If you've been having trouble using that old (or new) telescope, bring it out and some of us will help you get it set up. Please make sure you bring all the necessary parts and don't forget batteries.

Location Info:

The site of our quarterly public star parties.

Enter the park via the main gate, turn left at the ranger station and continue to the end of the road past the large rocks.

Notes:

This is a County Park so please be mindful of the rules. aka, no alcohol. No smoking of any kind except in your vehicle. The park normally closes at sundown but during our Star Parties, we make special arrangements to have the gates open until the event concludes. Also, please stay at the event after dark. The rest of the park is not open to the public after dark and you will be asked to leave if you stray from the event area.
