Details:

We're back again for another of our fabulous quarterly star parties. These are always a blast and this one looks to be no different. As usual all the local area astronomy clubs are invited to join us so we usually have a goodly number of telescopes.

The weather is shaping up to be good with a light wind and clear skies. The moon sets right at twilight so it should be as dark as it ever gets at Vasquez.

Not much in the way of planetary targets however both Neptune and Uranus will be up so those with larger scopes should be able to get good views. M31 and M33 should be great galactic targets fairly high in the North East. Lots of clusters and nebulae should be reachable depending upon seeing.

Sundown is at 6:07 so please plan to get there before dark to prevent blinding folks with your headlights. Cars should be parked pointing away from the viewing area.

See you there!

Location Info:

The site of our quarterly public star parties.

Enter the park via the main gate, turn left at the ranger station and continue to the end of the road past the large rocks.

Notes:

This is a County Park so please be mindful of the rules. aka, no alcohol. No smoking of any kind except in your vehicle. The park normally closes at sundown but during our Star Parties, we make special arrangements to have the gates open until the event concludes. Also, please stay at the event after dark. The rest of the park is not open to the public after dark and you will be asked to leave if you stray from the event area.
